Istria – Terra Magica

Istria is a magic land – terra magica! So is said by those whom visited the coastline and inland of Istria.

So much beauty and sights on such a small geographic area! Istrian medieval towns  located on little hills are unique:

  • Motovun, crowned with glory for its film festival
  • Grožnjan, the town of artists
  • Oprtalj, in the centre of the truffle zone
  • Dvigrad, abandoned long time ago

The bell towers that rip through the clear Istrian sky and churches painted with frescoes, where each one of them is a true cultural treasury.

Istria is the land of landscapes, painted with thousands of colours, the land of little walls, stone and kažun, rivers and waterfalls, sinkholes and centuries old olives.

The Romans left to Istria the magnificent Arena (colosseum) in Pula, in the 6th century Bishop Euphrasius built the Poreč basilica with the most beautiful mosaics in the world, nature created the Pazin Cave, Baredine Cave and Motovun truffles, Brijuni islands, etc…

This magic land for long memory and of fascinating beauty, as available and loving as it is, still remains undiscovered and unread. Thus Istria is magical and mystical and mysterious and seductive. Visit it once and it will stay in your heart forever.
