Itinerary description:

The two-wheeler ride to a truly fairy-tale forest begins in Vrsar. On the trail intended primarily for children, we will pass through the Kapetanova Stancija settlement and the Kontija special reserve of forest vegetation, and then along by the local sports airport we will return to the starting point in Vrsar.Between Vrsar and the Lim Channel the road extends through an unusual forest kingdom hiding a natural phenomenon: the magical forest of Oriental hornbeam. It has been preserved for more than 140 years. You will also find manna ash, Turkey oak, prickly juniper and the common juniper here, together with hellebores and butcher’s-broom among the low vegetation, as well as cheerful animal company including roe deer and pheasants, foxes and badgers, wild boar, lovely hedgehogs and a variety of birds and land turtles too.Please remember – gathering plants or damaging trees and shrubs is strictly forbidden in this unique forest.On our way to the finish line, we are passing by Vrsar airfield, famous for its panoramic flights where you can see vintage planes, take a look at a cockpit and learn a few secrets about the beginning of Istrian aviation.
