Anybody who has seen both the coast and the inlands of Istria will probably say that it is a beautiful country, a magic country abounding in breathtaking beauty and numberless historic and cultural monuments. On a relatively small geographic surface there are so many things to see and to return to them in order to see them from a different perspective.
One just cannot forget inland Istrian towns situated on the peaks of the hills. There is no other place in Europe with such a concentration of medieval towns as there is in Istria. And all those church towers and churches with wall paintings, outstanding monuments and cultural treasures, landscapes painted in rich variety of colours changing with the seasons… there is also an Amphitheater, in Pula, and the divine St. Euphrasius basilica in Poreč that has recently joined a family of the UNESCOs World Heritage.
There’s only one way to discover Istria, and that is travelling. Different parts of Istria are well connected by roads; its beauty, charm and kindness are tangible at every spot, not hidden. Once you discover it as it is, it remains in your heart, and the memory of it never fades.
